Hi Guys,

Well... in a few hours the fam and I will be heading out on vacation, so I probably wont' be very active over the next 3~4 days. I'm going to take my laptop... so I'll be on in the morning... or in the evening. But... if my answers are a little slower than normal... please forgive me.

We are heading up to a small, private lake, and the house we are getting to use, is right on the water. The down side is... since it's small, only property owners are allowed to put their boats and ski's on the water. So, I won't be taking any of my stuff. But, the owner of the house is allowing me to use His toys.

See you guys later

No, say it ain't so Joe. Have a great time on your well deserved vacation.

It'll be interesting to play with someone else's toys. Prob not as fun though. I bet you'll diagnose at least 1 or 2 probs :) Have fun!

Hi guys,

We are home... and it was a very nice place to visit. Unfortunately... we had some freak weather... and it was a little on the cool side. On Sunday... it only got up to 69 degrees !!!! That's just crazy cold for the first week of Aug.

Regardless... the sun was out most of the time... and the kids got to do some things that we don't do here at home. My older kid wanted to ride on the JetSki's... but I didn't feel like being wet with the cold air. So... she was very happy to be able to play with the paddle boat. So... to keep her safe... I just put a long rope on it, and any time she would get too far... I could just pull her back.

Later on Sat afternoon... it did warm up to the low 70's, and the kids wanted to swim. So... We took them over to a small sand beach, and they got to play there for a couple hours.

The travel path up to the lake took us directly though Punxsutawney. (where the ground hog lives) So... on the way home... we decided to stop there, have lunch, and look around a little. (bottom pictures)

OK.... this very nice vacation was a "Thank you" gift from one of our members. And... as some may have already figured out... it was from BigJake. He has a few rental properties, and he was gracious enough to let us use his house on the water. Oh... and some of you guys know he is a bit of a joker.... well... it doesn't just end here. (see the picture of the tool box)

THANKS JAKE !!!

I'm glad you and your family got away and had a good time. Very nice of BigJake. Just one more indicator of the quality members on the site.

A few days ago my daughter wanted to go out riding. We had to wear shorty wetsuits due to the air temp. Lake Erie water temp was 73. Sorry the temps were on the chilly side for you.

Welcome home.

Welcome back. Sorry the weather wasn't better for you. Although it looks pleasant out, the photo of your daughter in the black swimsuit carrying the pink board..... The look on her face says "chilly".

Kids are strange that way. The water and air was very cool. But... they still wanted to swim. If the sun wasn't out... it would have been bad. But... after she got out, and dried off.... she was shivering for an hour after. It didn't help that she had the sniffles too.

She was disappointed that we didn't get to take the ski's out... but in my mind... it wasn't a big deal, since we have ski's at home.

Despite the weather... it was a nice trip. Mind you... we should be into the upper 80's right now. The silver lining was that the only time it rained was late Friday night. The rest of the time... it was puffy clouds and sun.

bigJake Wow, that's awesome of you.
Dr Honda Your girls are getting big! It seems like just yesterday you were posting baby pictures..

Nice pics Tony. Such a shame the weather was so cool. Me and Cianna have the exact same water-wings :)

Actually on that note.....

For the guys who have small kids... the green "Water wings" Cianna has on, is made by Sterns, (Puddle Jumper) and it's a USCG legal life jacket. (up to 50 Lbs) They seem to be WAY more comfortable for the kids, over the typical toddler life jackets.
