Ok guys,I'm in the process of replacing the drive shaft carbon ring with all new parts(LARGE CHIP IN CARBON RING)...nothing has been disconnected or unbolted yet,But i have cut the old rubber boot off,My problem is the TOP HAT will not slide aft on the drive shaft to expose the the retaining O ring,I have pushed this back in the past by hand..But now it will not move aft at all to get to the retaining O ring,so as to cut the O ring to continue on removing the shaft,Anyone have a idea what the problem may be?I've searched the forums and didn't come up with anything. Thanks guys

Use some spray like WD-40 and tap it backwards, you can also use a block of wood and a prybar on the PTO. You also need to still have the pump installed.
