Butt ugly, no bow seat, who loved this one? The 4-tec would be the only reason and probably not for fuel consumption aside from it doesn't sip one of the most EXPENSIVE motor oils on the face of the planet.

Try buying a gallon of Stihl synthetic air-cooled 2-stroke oil if you want an instantaneous coronary.

I know what you mean. Aside from guzzling gas, it guzzles oil too! Just spent another $140 on oil yesterday. Ought to last me another 2 months (maybe). How do you like your sportster DI? I've heard a few horror stories about that engine. Ever have to replace the fuel pump? What did you pay for it? How long have you owned it? WAIT! Yours is carbed? Did you retrofit a carbed engine in there? Do you consider it "loud"?

The jury is still out on the Sportster but I'm gonna give this 951 carb a run for it's money and see what it can do, I think there's nothing wrong with these that a little tuning can't cure, it's a cute little boat with cubbyholes everywhere, even a locker for my ski. Bought this thing from a surgeon on Long Island last August, I think he was getting nervous nothing had ever been to it except he did know how to fog ir. It's still in good cosmetic shape and the motor seemed tight at 137psi both so I forked over $4800. Sounds like a killer-bee hive tooling down the lake but it's not too objectionable I guess.

I would never think of letting the Eliminator Olds-455 Berkley go anytime soon though, that thing I used to run up and down the Colorado balls to the firewall in 2 feet of water so it's a permanent keeper like a faithful dog, an old floppy hat or old pair of shorts.

Yeah I just use ace hardware 2 stroke in my stihls , no problems after 5 years. I do use their trimmer string though.
