hey all, while i had my front (96xp) storage bin out yesterday i notice that there is a seal or well used to be a seal/ weather stripping on the under side of the binn.

so my question is, should i leave it like that or should i replace it with something like a weather stripping from home depot or something like that.

any tips or advice that people are in the same boat would greatly be appreciated.

thank you guys

Mine doesnt have it either. But I bet it would definitely help keep SOME water out when having waves run over the bow. I think I remember seeing it on microfiche for like $14? If you find one, let me know...looking to do a bunch of restorative/maintenence work this season.

wallmart, door weatherstripping, its about 6.00, 1 roll, u can do both storage bins and glove box, and still have enough to do it again

damn griz, what type of spaceship are you flying? BOTH storage bins AND a glove box? all I have is one storage bin in front under the hood.

nice,, how much did it cost?

$2.57. Frost King Rubber Foam Weatherseal. 3/8" wide, 5/16" think, 10' long. Self stick. Lowe's.

Says for marine uses too. Not sure how water proof it is, I'll find out.

In case you don't have any remanence of the factory seal, it goes on the underside lip of the storage tray.

perfect, i love the price haha, i have a very very thin little rubber piece left.. thanks for the tip, it should be a pretty straight forward repair

The rubber foam is 5/16" thick, so when it's compressed from the tray on the hull and the cover being closed and latch on the tray it may be pretty waterproof.
