hi all Im Gary I just joined due to a problem im having with my sea doo bombardier gti at first everything was running strong then after it being shut off for a while it had problems starting.. like no power wiggle the key lanyard a few times while pushing start button then it would start up.. and ride fine.. then when it was shut off for a day it wouldn't start at all even wiggling key.. so I checked all the fuses in the brain pluged everything back in boom started right up.. well after riding for a while now every time I come across a wake that smacks the bottom of the craft hard it completely loses power again have to wiggle key to get started, or wont start at all. is this a dess issue or the brain?

Could easily be a poor connection issue as well.

Our skis take a lot of abuse. It is well worth taking all the grounds off, sanding then, sand where they connect and put them back on with dielectric grease.

Do the same with the positives.

Connection issues can haunt you when finding an issue.

thanks for the input I have tried cleaning both the key and post and still no results.. now tomorrow ill look in to the ground issue

Get a meter on the battery. Whats the voltage?

Jump the solenoid and tell us what happens.

battery is fine has just under 12 volts is their a way to bypass the dess post to see if that is infact the problem??

might want to charge that battery, heard they need all the juice possible to crank, have you tried jumping the stater solenoid and see if it makes a difference? I will let the pro chime in about the bypass but I think you cant.

ok so I whent out to mess with this issue today I plug the key in and she starts right up... wtf I took it out on the lake un plugged the lanyard it shut off like normal I plug it back in and starts right up... I continue to ride and push the start/stop button to see if it would have an issue starting... nope starts right up... so guess ill just enjoy it for the day until the issue reveals itself again.. unless yall have any sugestions??

Poor connection issue.

Remove all grounds and hot wires. Clean the ends and where they bolt up. So the hot and ground wire on the starter as well.

I checked connections unless im missing some?? anyway so now after the ski has been shut off for a few hours its back to no power.. like if I hit the start button without the key on the gauges don't even light up or move.. I heard someone mention something about waking up the mpem??? if I unplug the conectors then plug them back in I get power then she starts up.. so not a dess issue???
