cutting out

Hello
I have a 98 sporster 1800 and the last couple trips to the lake my boat starts fine, but after a while it will just randomly cut out . It is really frustrating pulling a wakeboarder and have your boat just die. Both engines cut out at the same time and some times it is difficult to start again, meaning the key is on the safety switch but doesn't always turn over when red button pressed. Do I need a new key or is it the safety switch. I have two keys and both do the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hey stud...yah something weird, recheck all connects, and any freys in wires, clean the post w/ soap water and swab out the key...

Sounds like it may be safty lynard or switch.

It was the safety switch. New one installed and everything works fine now.

Did you take it to the dealer or is this something you can do on your own? The dealer told me my safety switch needs to be changed but parts and labor comes out to almost $200
