Craziest thing I have seen today!!!!

Just happens that every day on my way to work I have to cross over the bridge from Ohio to Huntington WV. Each day I always look over at the Ohio River to see if it's coming up, going down, muddy etc... I grew up on the river so I've always been fascinated with it. I always notice a small dock along side of the river with 2 nice looking skis tied up to the dock.
Each day the river rises I always wonder why they don't pull them out until the river goes back down.
Today I was mortified to see that the rising Ohio had totally claimed one ski and it is no longer visible and the other's bow is only sticking about 3 inches above the water. I feel like going door to door along the river and asking the homeowners 1. If they own the 2 skis tied up on the dock and 2. do they realize they are completely being destroyed..... GRRRRR.

Maybe they don't live there (ie a weekend cabin or something) - or more likely they don't take care of their stuff - or
maybe someone was told to get them out and forgot.

What a shame.

Boat recovery time.
Send owner a bill...............

I went by just a few mins. ago and now the other ski is completely gone as well. Makes you sick to see that stuff. I guess they are still tied to the submerged dock if not who knows where they went. The river is a brown muddy mess. It has been the crappiest year on the water there in recent memory.

I live on the Ohio by the bridge, my two ski's are under water and won't start, should I wait to remove the plugs once the hull is completely dried out sometime next week?

The Ohio River usually runs around 18 to 22 feet deep around here but it is currently hitting 38 feet. Nothing but brown mud... I guess they didn't have enough rope tied out on the dock but it has been rising steadily for the past week.
I'm sure we will see those for sale soon.
