how's it goin guys. unfortunaly this is my first post being a negative one. so anyway yesterday i got my tow rope sucked threw the grating and around my shaft/impeller. went to take the grating off and the first two back bolts came off quite simply and then i broke the heads off of the front two bolt. :(
does anyone have and suggestion on what i should do to remove the bolts.
i was think drill tap but just wondering if anyone had a better idea. thanks alot guys

oh yea it's a 2000 GTX millinum edition

You can probly get them with a small drill bit and an easy-out. Uf the bolts were stainless its to your advantage because their typically not hardend much. Just be sure to go slow so you don't make things worse. And use some good veener schlide (penetrating oil)

No need to use easy-outs. The 2 front bolts go right through the hull and have a lock nut on the end (inside the hull). If you don't remove the nut first, you will break the bolts. Now that the bolts are broken, they should come out when you undo the nuts.

yea thats what i understand, but how hard are these two nut to get to. I've heard that you have to remove the motor to get to these nuts ???

Hi - I've got the same problem as "mitchell 92288" has, but on a 2001 GTX DI. will it be just as easy? In one sentence, can you tell me the easiest way to see the lock nuts on the inside?
