Leaking Oil

Hi Pursuit,
There is a cap at the rear of the cases that has a o-ring around it and a snap ring that holds it in. Balancer oil could be coming out there. I would clean that area real good and look again for the leak. I've never seen a 787 leak there before and I wouldn't try to remove that end cap unless I absolutely had to. That cap is also "sandwiched" in between the case halves and will not come out without a big fight. One thing could lead to another and then the next thing you know your pulling the engine and splitting the cases in order to repair the end cap that may not even be leaking.
Let us know what you find. DAWG

The manual does say use 1oz or 30ml of 30wt. oil in the plug on the case. You didn't over fill it did you? Where is the oil coming from? let us know.

over filled?

Thanks For the reply,
I may have over filled it. I filled it to the top of the threads. When I ran it
oil was dripping out of the exaust.
Still trying to figure out the guage issue.
I'm new to the jetski thing but have been boating for 30 years.
I gave this ski to the kids for Christmas and just want them to enjoy it.
Thanks For your help

I did a little more research on the 30 wt. oil. 1oz. isn't much oil and it appears that it is only added when you rebuild the engine. you shouldn't just fill the oil up. It's purpose is to help lube the counter balance shaft after assembly. Also this oil wouldn't come out the exhaust...that would be from your 2 stroke oil in the injection system.
