The fading may only be oxidation of the gelcoat and not necessarily the color going away.....kind of a whitening effect as it were.
Although these craft have gelcoat they can generally be treated similarly to clearcoat auto finishes. You can use a mild polish - not rubbing compound (big difference there) followed by a wax.
