Changing wear ring in 96 Seadoo Challenger

Got my kit and opted for OEM wear ring. The freezer trick worked like a charm sliding right in with little resistance. A couple of questions, I ordered the impeller boot from OSD and looks nothing like the OEM. Is this the right part? It fits ok but doesn't have as good a locking lip as the OEM does. Also parts diagram shows two parts at the end of the driveshaft at the impeller. Maybe I am missing something? OEM on right

Also noted my impeller is a Skat-Trak 17-22. Is that the stock impeller that single engine Challenger 800's shipped with?

You might need a skat trak impeller boot, nice find skat traks are about $250 new. The skat swirl will give you the best hook up and out of the hole and is supposed to be better overall than stock

Thanks for the responses. That might explain it then. So in my pic, the one on the left looks correct for OEM? The parts diagram is calling part #42 a "ring" and part #2 (N2) an "impeller boot". Am I still missing something?

Yeah #42 is a plastic cone that pops on the oem #2. You can probably get a free one from skat trak that fits right.

Thanks, emailed them yesterday but prob should have called. What's the quickest way to pressure test the pump? I guess I can cobble something up but I do have a bike pump. Whats the most common way to do this? Since it's a submerged application, I would have thought they would pull vacuum on the case to test for leaks. Just curious but does the pump actually build positive pressure under operation?

Look at a foto of a pop off tester from osd parts. They probably have all those items at the hardware store

Got her done, improvised a little and just placed shrader in the nose cone directly and used my small compressor to pressurize it. Placed in 5gal bucket with no leaks and good to go.
