Have a new-to-me 01' Sportster LE 951C with a reservoir full of unknown dark green oil. I suspect Quicksilver premium TC-W3 2 cycle, but that's just a guess since I know that is dark green. I want switch out to a good quality API full syn but don't know the procedure for a complete evacuation. I'm trying to resist the significant urge to just drain and refill. I'm aware that incompatibility could cause gelling in crank and other issues.

I used an oil extractor and unhooked the lines off the block and sucked all the oil from tank with the extractor through the hoses. It will leave a mess though in the bilge. After I did all lines filled up tank with the oil of your choice which is a different discussion in of itself. Of course after you suck all oil out you will need to bleed the oil injection of you still have it. I also put 5 gal of premix in the gas tank just to make sure I didn't run without oil till all air was worked out.

I pull the hose off the injector pump, and let it drain into something. Then, (since it's a boat) I would pull the tank... put in a little kerosene, and slosh it around. Then, set it in the sun for an hour or so. (that will evap the Kero) Then... put it back together with a new filter... and bleed the hose.

If you have a buddy with a Diesel truck... or a Diesel tractor... give him what you drained out... and he can burn it for you. (love when I get free fuel)
