Hello all, just signed up and have recently acquired a challenger 2000/2000 model with an EFI 240. Boat is rough but can be saved I believe. Purchased from original owner but had sit up for about 2 years. He would go start every now and then but the registration on the boat is from 2011 so I don't think it has been in the water for a while. I plan on draining gas, changing water separator but I need more to direct me here. I can turn motor by hand so that's a good start.
Any ideas on where I can get owners manual? Also, could someone direct me on how torun motor on hose, what is procedure?

Thanks in advance

Welcome.

The owner's manual can be down loaded on Seadoo's website. Look for the tab named "Owner Center"... and you will see the link for the manuals.

Running a Merc on the hose is easy. Just turn on the water. (regardless if the engine is running or not) But, be warned... unless you have very good pressure on the hose... the water flow may not be enough to keep the engine cool.

If it's been sitting for a while... I would also recommend servicing the lower end. Replace the oil in the gear case, and the stator.

Read though some of the threads here in the Merc section... and I'm sure you will find all the info you need.

Dr Honda,

Thanks for the reply. I found this site while absurd a London flight to the west coast. I have never been so informed, everyone here is great seem to want to help. You are on a lot of post helping everyone out. After spending about an hour on the site I feel I should bypass the oil injection from the beginning since I plan to pump all the gas out. Might as well, it scares me to think what could happen. Thanks again and I will make a separate post on how to service lower unit
