my 97 challenger 1800 has a cavitation problem on the port side, i have noticed water being in the hull after being in the water so I figure its probably sucking air thru the hull, what would be the most likey parts i would need to order, i really dont want to tear it down untill i have the parts i need to fix it. Thanks love the forum.. Eddie

Water probly entering thru the carbon ring assy...under the grey cover, behind the motor.
Click on "PARTS", top of page, and plug your boat year/model, from there, you'll see blown up version of parts that will be needed.
Cavitation, might check clearance between wear ring and impellor blade, no more than 1mm

Thanks, the ring clearance was .023" i was expecting worse. i guess ill start with the carbon ring.
