Last month I returned back to the world after an 18 month deployment to hell and am here at Parker, AZ.

I put the 93 GTX's in the water, the little lady took off, full speed ahead, it sputtered ,died, started up, she took off again at full speed, sputtered again, died, same-o-same-o. At very low RPM's she was able to get the Doo back to dock. It idles fine, but as soon a a load is put on the engive dies.

QUESTION: What be the problem civilians? Jet's gummed for sitting in the garage for a year or so?

I never had a problem with this Doo until my Uncle Sam sent me away for a year and a half.

If so, do I have to remove the carbs to clean out the jets, or can I do that without removing them.

I have a clymer manual but it sucks.

Or, is there some miracle juice that will do the job?

The 2nd Doo worked, then stopped. I had it towed it back to the doc and when I depressed the start button all I heard was a THUD.

Is that a bad battery indication, or bad starter?

All help appreciated.

Joe

First I'd like to welcome you home and thank you for your service.

As far as the ski, I'd suck all the old fuel out if any in there, get some Sea Foam and put fresh fuel in and try it. I'd also make sure to clean the fuel filter after the fuel selector too. Try and start with that before ripping the carbs off and apart if you don't have to. I'd also try a new set of plugs to help make sure you have good spark.

yup

one sounds like it needs new gas, carb clean, big hug :) Should not run it like it is, being lean and all, but if this happens again do a plug chop and see what they look like.

other one may be battery, starter, solenoid. Let the testing begin !

Thanks for letting me an my 5 year old son go day to day an not worry about getting hit by the bad guy. Glad you are alright.

BTW: Parker Yamaha is my favoriter place to get parts. Never been there but called and use the web page a bunch.

The world of Civlant...!

Yeah, welcome home. I know where you been, know your world first hand myself. Been there, done that. Got the "t" shirt in Africa. Traded it for a bottle of Johnny Walkerred. Getting drunk in the middle east is a very challenging task.

The only part you probably had that we didn't was up to date news. I was there before we had computers. When we left, the music we were in tune with was gone when we got back. The music was completly changed up.

Welcome back to Civlant.........I no longer have anything to do with Uncle Sam. I am no longer a billet number. I'm a person with a life!

If you set your skis up for that period with no fuel stabilizer, then your likely feeling the affects of "gummed" up carbs. You'll probably be best in removing and cleaning. Being careful, you probably can get away with just a blowing out with a carb cleaner. Clean the micro mesh filter inside the carbs. If you got to rebuild, then the kits are only about $35 bucks...

I would agree with those that said to use a little "seafoam" first. This is a good product. And toss the Clymers, it sucks!

Joe, I'm going to send you a PM. If your not familar with this service yet, look above on the right hand side of the page.

Cheers and welcome back to the real world. Oh yeah, you can now put the spoon away and eat with a knife and fork!.......
