Carbs pop-off?

I have run into my first question/confusion in my carb rebuild. Last year when I rebuilt my carbs, my pop off was within a pound or two from each other. This year, my pop off was about 8 PSI different. What causes this? I believe it's the needle valve and seat, since this, the lever and spring control it.

Did you know that outside of testing the carbs for pop off, you should also check the diaphragms in the accelerator pump and fuel chamber. We should also be checking the small check valves.

I'm almost finished rebuilding my two carbs and will be posting pix on this procedure.

I know, we've gone over them a million times but there is always something else we can look at or discuss.

I'll re-post before the first of next week with an update on the pix and testing procedures..........
