Alright, river was a blast for last 5 days,.. boat, doos, ran great, BUT...1 ?..
I've threaded/posted B-4 with how my boat would act up, and what i've done/replaced on it.
Think i've narrowed it down being fuel issue. When it acts up, boat wont go over 8-10mph, at 3-3500rpm. First time past bouy, WOT, runs perfect, when bring'n to idle, then back WOT, does that 3-3500rpm 8-10 mph B.S.,..so I pulled choke, and WHAM, runs perfect, when it acts up again, after bring'n to idle then WOT, need to pop the choke real quik.
So that tells me, needs more gas, ? is, carbs are set at factory setting, popoff is 55psi, LSA=1.25, HSA=0,...what does lowering the popoff do, and will that help the fuel transfer thru main jet faster?. jets are 130main, 67.5pilot

Sounds like most of the problem is a fuel delivery problem like the fuel pump diaphram is not working good or you have a fuel restriction in fuel tank, fuel valve or fuel lines. I am no pro so good luck Robin

Alright Robin...
Rebuilt carbs w/ new kit, hope'n the popoff ? would give me indication. Have new filter in hand for baffle, I'll try that and play w/ springs and needles, see what happens.

Needle valve....

You have two options......one of them was my problem.

If your pulling your choke out quickly for that burst of fuel, then your correct. You need more fuel.

Do this, since WOT seems to be o.k., idle around for about 20 minutes, then kill the engine. Quickly, before the plugs cool off, pull them and give a read. You may be able to open the "low speed" idle screw just a tad on both carbs to make up for this.

If the plugs read good, you may want to re-inspect the arm/lever assembly at the needle valve. It may be bent inward to much. Pull back on that leve just a tad, to get that needle valve off the seat while idling.

But, sounds like other than that, you got a clean run. Look at my thread in general discussions, theres a post on spark plug conditions........it may prove to be useful to you.................
