It's been about a month of it running good, but now it's just flooding engine because diaphragm is broken in and the spring is too weak. What do i need to do? buy new springs? or bend the tangs? old springs in? old springs & tangs in?

/confused :S

the oem spring is fine, unless is all rusted up. Tear carb apart, and clean all passages, if tang is higher than the inner carb part, then bend it down, slightly to level.

Did you use a genuine Mikuni rebuild kit? If not, re-do it. All aftermarket carb kits are junk! Only use genuine Mikuni kits and parts. Make sure you put the proper spring in. The proper adjustment for the tang is level with the carb body plus or minus 1 mm.

I wish they would stop putting the springs in the kits almost everyone that gets a kit thinks they need to put it in even when 9 out of 10 times the spring is fine. Just like the gm tbi throttle body rebuild kits come with a new large spring and if you use the new one it will not run right.

I thought the Mikuni website is tops - it tells you the straight story on the carbs. Can't find the address right now - but I always find it PDQ thro Google. Mouse.
