What is better and for what reasons?

Also how does a 97 GTX and a 99 GTX RFI compare?
I had a 97 and might be looking at a 99.

thanks in advance...

compare?......

I don't know if you can really compare the two. One is twin carbs, the other is Rotax Fuel Injected (RFI). That's like apples and oranges.

Your either a fan of fuel injection or a fan of carbs......myself, I'm partial to carbs. Only because it is something I can repair.

Looking at RFI, there should be less maintenance, but more costly to repair.

Carbs, need maintenance and care, but cost less to repair (carb kits for about $35 bucks).

thanks... I may have found a 01 XP with only 20 hours on it... 5 hour drive away though... SO i think that might be my next ski!!
i'll let you know if i get it....
I do wish it was RFI though.... just because i would rather not tinker in it...
As i Understand FI will be more ecomonical and have less chance for error.
I do understand that it will be more to fix if something does go wrong...

thanks for the heads up !

So true......

That is so true. When injection systems work well, they are much more fuel efficient and trouble free. But when you got a bad injector, regulator, fuel pump, etc......then, the pocket starts getting deeper.

I guess another point to make (from what I understand) is that you can't run pre-mix through RFI. You have to rely on the oil injection. Pre-mix will plug the injectors. Guess that is something to consider if you prefer to switch to pre-mix......
