I read here to spray the carb gaskets with permatex hi tac. I have permatex copper from the snowmobiles, this should work also correct? Or should i just go get the hi tac??? I think the copper is the same it just is for hi temp app's. Also were their gaskets between the carb and flame arrester? Mine had none and i didnt see it in the manual. Should i also spray that connection also? Thanks CCC

PS This is still for the 95 GTX'S

no gasket between flame arrestor housing and top of carbs, but if in doubt with the carb base gaskets, get new ones...

Nothing between the flame arrestor's, I just use a thin bead of Ultra Blabk silicone. if the carb gaskets are new leave them dry, if used put on something, whether is your copper or some hi-tack. Both will work good.

I don't use anything on the flame arrestor. It's not a "filter" so you don't need an air tight seal. Don't worry about it.

As far as the carb gaskets... if they are in the internal gaskets... leave them dry. Any sealant that may work loose... it could plug up the carbs, and it makes it harder to take apart. If you are talking about the base gaskets... you could spray some high tack on one side, just so they don't fall off the manifold while you are trying to put the carbs back on... but I put them on dry.

FYI... most gaskets are designed to go on dry, and a sealant could mess them up.

FYI 2... the Copper coat is for metal head gaskets only.
