heck w/ align tool, I set motor in, hooked everything up, then few turns before tighten, on the motor mounting bolts, I hit start button couple times. Aligned it right up, then tighten her down...(may get different opinions on this subject, though)
The way timmy suggest is doable. Technically you have to use the alignment tool. If this is a new engine, I would recommend using this because you probably have to use different shims to get it right. If it's the same engine and you just pulled it to rebuild or whatever then the way Timmy suggest is good, make make sure it is aligned perfectly, and old shims are reused in the exact spot. ya i just left my shims where they were before the pull, then sat the sucker right back in.....new engine though????? prob get the tool man, save u a headache!!:ack:
