Can anyone tell me how to submarine my challenger?

I've seen plenty of videos of the move but I don't know how it's done. Know one gives you verbal directions on how to do the move? If anyone can give me written directions on how to complete this move, like what to do with the controls , amount of speed needed etc... that would be great. Thanks

X2 Keep in mind, this is a "feel" move as the more throttle you give it, the more it will dive the bow. More weight in the bow will also effect the dive. There are a lot of variables.

Many times I just like to do it enough to put up a nice spray over the bow. Everyone giggles and there is no harm in that. If I hit it a bit harder, I can put that spray over the tower and get the guys in the back seat! And then there is the "mash" move and you just better hope your cooler floats!

Tips:

1. If you have passengers, inform them ahead of time and be sure they know where the closest "Oh $hit" bar is
2. Try small ones first, with just a little throttle until you know how it will react
3. Be sure you don't do it in tight quarters or around other boats, as the boat will tend to spin a bit once it pops up
4. Be sure your floor drain and scupper are clear and working, or be sure your bilge is working after it drains into the ski locker!
5. Keep your phones and Key fobs in the glove box or dry space
6. Only put the "big boys" in the bow if you really want to dip it deep!

Have fun, be safe!

Funny this came up...I watched your video (again) just the other day to show a friend...you are the King of the sub move, and when I saw this post I hoped you would reply!

Dude OMFG!!! That was the ballsiest sub I've ever seen! It's time to bow down (pun intended) on that one! She was freaking out up front. Good times.

There were mixed opinions on that one when I first posted it. I assure you we won't debate it anymore, but I tried to do it as safely as possible, and it was not our first manuever of the day, so everyone was "onboard with it"

My wife, woman in the middle with the cocktail between her legs, was less than happy about me posting it on Youtube. But since the great feedback and number of hits, she loves to share it with friends.

We were all surprised at how far that one went under. I have learned to follow my own tips and adjust reverse thrust based on the amount of weight in the bow. Otherwise, kiss your amp, subwoofer, and Morgan/Diet goodbye!

Be safe and enjoy it! The feeling of that boat dipping is the strangest in the world. it goes against the laws of gravity almost.

We have some boats at work that stop on a dime like that, but they are not dipping the bow under. It is a weird feeling the first few times. So unnatural after owning my boat.

Looks like fun.....but why would anyone do that to their boat.
now if you could speed up quickly and go thru the tunnel of water w/o getting the boat 1/2 sunk....then maybe.

Actually you can, and that is what we do 95% of the time. It's a quick spray up in the air and back on the throttle. In fact, most don't even get wet in the boat. It just puts up this big wall of water.

And when you do get a little bit of water in the boat, it is designed to drain straight out the floor drain and out the scupper valve so it won't even get to the ski locker, or engine compartment if done right. This one was just over the top.

PS: Is someone really going to start taking jabs at me for not wearing the kill cord in a 20ft glass boat? Really? A sub move is nowhere near as g-force intense as spinning that boat on open water at speed. The chances of me getting tossed were 0%.

You can count a few of those hits on youtube from me and my friends. I've tried it in my new to me 07' speedster wake but can't get anywhere near the "wow" factor you did that day!!

Now that's more like what I want. Do you have a video of one of the calmer subs?

Consider it on the list SDBuddy! Now if I could only remember where I packed my waterproof HD cams! For the life of me I can't find them and I fear I packed them away in the tank bag on one of my sleds. GRRRR.

We are overdue for some more footage on the boat. The girls have been taking some great wipeouts lately on the tube and I see a nice summer-end compilation video in the works.

The best subs are the ones that could have been. You can put up such a huge wall of water that looks like it should just fill the boat. But then everyone is surprised to just get a small spray back in the boat. It's just like those waveboat rides at the big amusement parks. It blows more water forward than anything.

Because it's fun. And realistically, it doesn't hurt the boat in fresh water.

I use to do it with my little boat all the time. Also... my little girl thinks its funny when I do it with my Polaris Jet ski. (We've been knocked off before doing it on the ski)

Can't wait to try it with the islandia !!!

You asked for it, and here it is. Just a couple real tame sub moves. These put just enough spray over the bow to get everyone wet. We did do one that put a good 1-2" of water in the boat. I think it just rinsed the inside nice. Nice to know my new scupper valve is working well.

Enjoy!

Nice clips Biff. I couldn't tell if you powered through any of the sub moves though. Mostly looked like the boat stopped and did the involuntary turn thing. That's how mine end up, but I've never given it forward throttle when the bow goes down.

Seems like anthing big enough to put a splash over the bow will pretty much stop the boat.

After the first one yesterday, these guys would start screaming as soon as I pulled the throttle, so that I could shift to reverse. They knew what was coming. It was so hot, it was the highlight of the day.

So we did quite a few small sprays and shoot throughs. But most of those don't put anything over the bow.
