Bucket seat bolt pull out!

Was out on the water yesterday in my 2009 Seadoo speedster, took a hard turn and heard a little snap and the sound of a few bolts settling on the deck. Come to find out the right hand bolts (2 of them) pulled out of the seat. The bolts themselves did not snap, they just broke out of the seat. I will get pictures when I get home, as well as remove the seat and look under there. Has this happened to anyone else?

I changed both stock seats for custom seats with flip up bolsters. The new seat bases had a different bolt pattern with six bolts instead of the four by Seadoo. I used 5200 to fill in the old holes. Drilled out the new bolt pattern and used stainless steel lag bolts from Ace Hardware to attach the dual action bases (swivel and front to back) . I guess you may use larger stainless lag bolts to attach your stock seats.

Ah cool! The seat base on mine has six holes drilled in it, but only two are used. It looks like it is a reasonable simple fix, the t-nut like fasteners rusted and snapped from the flange. So I ordered some stainless steel t-nuts and am just going to replace all of them with the stainless!

Great ......I'm happy you found a solution to your minor problem. Most problems can be fixed with a little patience and brain power.
