So my buddy and I are working on his 97 SPX. We decided to take the engine out because we found a few bolt holes on the rear bridge mount that had been wollerd out causing the engine to be loose. When we were pulling the block out, we found out that the front mount had been busted, kinda. Well the metal plate that sits on the bushing has come "unglued" or however it was adhered, from the bushing it self. I have never seen this happen around the forum, so i was wondering if it could be fixed without have to replace the whole thing. Any ideas or what we should do next? Here is a pic of what im talking about ...View attachment 16810

Also, when we took of the rear mount "bridge" brace. I noticed a few things. The bolt threads go way back further into the case, way past where the original bolts mounted. Can we just use longer bolts to reach the threads further back? Either that or i think he is going to take it to a machine shop and see if they can drill new threads all the way across...its only one or two bolts on the bridge that are kind of bad, the other three are good.

I've seen these "fixed" by epoxying them back together, but I agree with Matt, since you have the engine out replace it. Bet Nick has a good used one.
