Thru-Hull / Needle Bearing Gets Hot
I have a '94 SeaDoo XP And recently seized the needle bearing where the shaft goes out the hull. Simple enough, I bought a new shaft, new needle bearing, lip seals and carrier, also a new rubber boot and clamps. Put it all back together and the bearing gets so hot it burns me! So I figure I tweaked it putting it together, sure enough it's stuck, so I get all new bearing and carrier and lip seals and have it professionally assembled, yay it spins, go home put it on the shaft, clamp it down and 15 seconds later it's almost too hot to touch AGAIN! Can anyone help? Is this bearing supposed to get hot? Is it supposed to spin freely or be just a little snug? Any help would be a lifesaver! Will try to get pictures tomorrow, but it's all new parts. Also checked alignment and all is well. I pulle dthe rubber boot (hose) and held the bearing with my hand and it still got hot, so I am thinking the lip seals or the bearing are not correct in some aspect. All is original equipment.
