Bombardier XPS synthetic oil is RED?!?!?

It's in the line between the oil tank and the oil pump, depending on the ski the oil pump is either located on the intake manifold under the carbs. or on the front of the mag. housing.

My own recent experience on this topic as well. I purchased a 99 gsx rfi which had some blueish greenish oil. I syphoned it, removed oil tank, cleaned it as much as I could. I also replaced the two injection hoses from pump to rotary as well as filter and new "red" xps oil syntethic. It was a pain and a little messy but it is nice to know whats in there now. I also bled bottom screw and injection lines to get all the air out as per manual when I put it back together. This was my experience. My local (35miles away) dealer had the gallon for about $40. Pricey stuff

hi guys,

I got all the oil drained out of the tank now and I have to wait till monday when my local dealer is open to get a new filter, the synthetic XPS oil mixing with the tiny bit of P.O. oil thats left in oil injection lines going to the engine won't hurt anything I assume.

I plan on cleaning the RAVE valves too since they are probly carboned up from useing wrong oil.

Thanks everyone :)
I looked in both my ski after work today I ran a white pvc flexible cord down the twisty filler hose and it appears to be normal blue tcw3 if I was to suck the oil out do I do it through the filler hose or is it better to remove the hose at the top of the tank still the pump hose would have to reach the rear of the tank were it would have to bend to the bottom ? it seems an odd shape to deal with

ok so both my seadoos are 97s bought at separate sellers both are near full of a blue oil. not like my boat uses a green tcw3 oil but they are definatly blue. I don't want to buy the wrong oil when I have to refill. is there anyway to tell what this oil is ?

would I be able to tell it this was synthetic ? can I drain this oil and change to seadoo oil with no issues?

thanks this is so confusingthe lable on the skis say don't use a tcw 2 or 3 oil looking at the tcw3 oil mt boat uses is green. but thie oil in both the seadoos from different past owners is both a blue oil

There is no way to tell if it is synthetic or the correct rated oil but I can tell you none of the seadoo oils have ever been blue. 99.9% of the time the blue oil is just a cheap TCW-2 oil that somebody that had no clue put in it from the marina or walmart. You will need to drain the oil tank, rotary valve chamber and install a new oil filter. Then install the correct oil. You will have to do all 3 steps to avoid any issues, the seadoo oils are not compatible with the TCW oils.
