Has anyone ever or heard of anyone threading the top of the rave valve and fastening it to the housing in the permanent open position? I was thinking about doing this since I keep melting assembly. Any thoughts?

Personally... if I had to pick a position... I would bolt it closed. If it was open... you may have a had time getting a stable idle, and you will loose a lot of torque.

But, if you are melting things... make sure the housing isn't too warn, and get good O-rings in there.

Nope... it should still get to max RPM's... but you will loose the top-end "Snap". SO... eventually... it will get to top speed.

BUT... if you have them open all the time... it won't be any fun to ride. You will make a corner... hit the throttle... and it will fall on it's face. The biggest factor on loosing top RPM is really the water regulator.
