i picked up an 02 RX DI for cheap with a blown motor. the previous owner tried to repair the cylinders and wound up over boring them beyond the point of getting an available oversized piston. I cant decide if i should do the SBT cylinder exchange for $500 or get new sleeves and have them installed and bored. Does anybody know how much it costs to have the cylinder sleeves installed and bored? or is it worth it to just buy the whole new cylinder. Thanks.

my buddy had the same issue as you, and he got it re sleeved and bored, out here in quebec and ran him i think 700$, the whole new cylinder was a tad less expensive but same price with installation, depends if you want all new cylinder or don't mind a rebuild?

sorry, i went by your profile when i sent u that link, a 951 -- is alot more -- 1600.00 -- http://www.shopsbt.com/sea-2002-drxdi/40-111.html -- if you do the top end, you need to take whole motor out and check bottom end also, pretty sure its going to need some repairs as well, (remember, you bought it apart, and has been overbored) and you never seen it run

Yea sorry i havent updated my profile. the motor is out and dissasmbled and im already putting a new crank in. being that im doing all the work myself labor prices arent an issue. sounds like the sbt cylinder is the best bet if sleeving and boring is going to be close to 700

Check out FullBore Online. I had Dan do mine and the work looks great and his customer service is first rate. He charges $475 for the 950 with 2 new sleeves installed and a WSM Platinum top end kit with all parts and gaskets.

I used SES engines from horsham, PA good prices and 2 year warranty. I've had 3 engines done there so far, I'm satisfied w/the work.
