Blower motor housing for an EconoLift boat lift.

O.K., I know this is a strange request, but I figured some guys on this forum might also own a boat lift, and maybe have had the same problem.

I have an Econo Lift 4500# front mount boat lift. I have noticed it's taking longer for the lift to raise out of the water, so it being off season I removed the blower motor. All this thing is, is a vacuum cleaner motor with a plastic housing so it blows instead of sucks.

The part I need is the plastic housing, it literally looks like a flower pot with a 1-1/4" hole in the bottom. Econo Lift doesn't list the part separately, they just list the control box. Has anyone had a similar experience and if so do you have a solution? Any help would be appreciated. Here's a picture of the old one.

Hi Dan,

I appreciate the reply, I actually saw those and they would probably work, but they won't fit in the housing that I have. I might go that route and make a different housing.

I also just thought about using a shop vac, but I'm not sure I would get the volume I would need. The blower I have really "sucks"/blows.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Yep I think you're right, good winter project. I really only need the housing for the blower, the valves can go outside the housing.
