Guys, im gonna try to rebuild the carbs on my 2001 Seadoo RX's that I just bought. Please let me know the easiest way to remove the carbs and what tools might be involved. Some have said I need to remove the big pipe on top to get to them but if I do are there gaskets I will need to replace on that as well? I really appreciate all the friendly advice I have seen in this forum. Please let me know the best way.

Dont take the pipe off...getting to the nut on the underside is impossible w/o a special wrench anyways.

Get the airbox out of there then take the 4 big bolts out and the bolt holding the brace to the pipe. Once the carbs are loose, I unscrew the throttle cable bracket so I dont have to readjust them. Then get the hoses off and out they come.

Its a total PITA job...and also be very careful pulling the hoses off the carbs...the nipples are fragile and its not cheap to replace them.

Thanks Minnetonka. As far as the kits go I was going to get a kit off of ebay but I read a threadbin here where a guy just recommended a good aerosol cleaning with carb cleaner when it was apart. Dint make sense to me but what are your thoughts? The whole reason im doing them is because I just bout them and gas has been sitting in em for a while and when I fired them up it was bogging down as soon as I gave it gas under load in the water.
