Hi, Why I can't start my 97 Sea Doo xp 800 with a Wal-Mart Battery Ever Star that I use to starting my 95 Sea Doo xp. What I need for the new 97 XP baby 800 to starting. Thanks Ariel.

Battery?

What does it do when you try and start it? The battery should start that motor or at least roll it over. If it is just clicking, you've probably got a problem in your solenoid or stater...........

Thanks

Thanks for help me. I am checking the + cable (RED) is rusty in the starter maybe is this if no, I will check the selenoid and starter. Thanks.

Bad connections....

Yes, bad connections will do it everytime. Clean them up at the battery, starter, ground and solenoid. You'll probably find that it is your problem.

Just a note about connections. After cleaning them thoroughly, down to clean metal, then assemble the connections while coating them with a good marine grade grease. (Marine grade is just stickier, and water won't wash it off)
I think I am using JT6 right now. It is sticky enough. The grease seals up the connection from water, and oxidation. Makes it easier to clean up (albeit messier!)
But it really beats broken bolts from corrosion, etc.

Best to you!
