Battery light on 96 xp

Dropped off skis to dealership for gas tank recalls. During that time it poured and got left in two days of downpour (garage kept at my house) now my battery red light is staying on. I checked the battery and it's at 12.4 V off and it's charging up under power, which to me is ruling out an actual battery issue. Is the gauge shot from gettin rain on for two days?. Is there any fix to this multifunciton?. Also I notice a tiny smudge where a gas gauge line is, also making me think the gauge got soaked. Thoughts?

Check all of your connections for loose connections. If it's lighting up still, the gauge shouldn't be shot. Someone else can chime in with a shop manual, maybe?

Check the various e-boxes for standing water. I'm thinking you will find it is flooded and causing a connection.
