I'm seing an insane spread on 4tec head gasket prices. I need to rebuild two engines and am wondering if anyone has had good luck with the cheaper $30-40 ones. Some brands I've spotted: JSP (Chinese) and Titan (Brazil) are on the lower end of the spectrum.

I've only used OEM or SBT and both work well. If they are anything like the cheap wear rings out now then I'd stay away. Not sure it's worth the risk of building a motor without knowing for sure but I'm always interested in good parts at a low price.

I asked elsewhere and one guy chimed in saying he's never had issues with JSP. They're on the low spectrum. They make other seadoo stuff, seems like they're trying to penetrate into our market. I think I've bought something from them at a bargain price and it worked out, but I forgot what. Anyway, head gasket isn't that huge of a job, I might give it a whirl.

Let me know what you guys have tried in the past.

We just buy the cheapest on ebay picture for reference , we have never had a failure. We own 3 4tec skis, 2003 GTX , 2004 GTX and 2005 RXT. We got 2 of them with damaged engines and rebuilt them, over 50 hours on them and no issues so far.

I just rebuilt a 05 RXP and went with WSM gasket kit. The whole kit was 1/3 price of the seadoo kit. It looked really good. will be dropping in the engine this week if I can find time.
