People ask about it all the time... but no one has reported back, if they put it in or not.

Well, if I cant get the oem one going, then I might just slap down the $95 and give it a try. I need to do some more research on it first. I'll post pics and discrip. if I do it. Trim Fix got some good ebay ratings for this system. I'm just not too keen on leaving the broken VTS in there and "duct taping" a new one on top. Reminds me of when grandpa put the new TV on top of the broken console TV.

Well... if you buy it... I hope you will post up a few pics, and let us know how it works out.

I installed the Trim Fix system on my 96 XP about 2 weeks ago. The Trim Fix module is easy to install. Just cut/splice a few wires & you're done. However, the module does not have limit sensors to stop the motor when it reaches the full up or full down position. To prevent the motor from over extending, you will need to remove the worm screw & file down some of the threads. Having a dremel handy will make the process alot easier. The optional Trim Fix gauge sensor is not as accurate as the original VTS housing sensor circuitry & requires some patience to install. With the Trim Fix gauge sensor, your gauge will only move in 5 increments from the full up position to full down. So, you will only get a approximate nozzle position at best. If your original gauge sensor still works, don't install the sensor supplied with the Trim Fix system.

For the price, I would still consider the Trim Fix solution the best option. I'll post some pics of the install soon...

My trim on my xp was workin but the guage was not so i installed the guage fix and it worked but the limit on the motor is now bypassed and it blows the fuse at full up and down! I didnt do the worm screw mod...but your right the guage fix only has five increments on up and down movement...hey doucdoo can you pst pics on the worm screw mod???

So i started the install of the trim fix today. Started with the worm ring mod first. Problem was took me over 2 hours to get the motor out. The bottom thread was ceased to the motor. After screwing around with it, it finally broke free. Crazy.
Anyhow.... Filled down the plastic worm screw and tapered the end and put it back together. Decided before installing the trim fix module to try the trim again and it worked. It must have been stuck or something. Tried it multiple times all good.
So didn't have to install the module. Have it now if it ever does decides to crap out completely.

Here's a pic of my install. The only issue I've had so far was water getting inside the fuse case. The corrosion caused loss of power to the Trim Fix module . After cleaning off the rusted fuse & putting some liquid electrical tape around the fuse case, all is good.

thats... not very clean wiring... why not use the heat shrink connectors from radio snack? then you put wires in each end, crimp, then use a lighter to heat shrink, then wrap with electrical tape... looks much nicer and is water proof..

Just finished installing my trimfix unit, works fine I filed down the screw and also installed the gauge sensor, cant get the gauge to work although. I sealed all my connetions with heat shrink and replaced the supplied fuse holder with an auto style holder that matches the blade fuses. I am a little bummed my trim gauge doesnt work. Ill post some pictures soon, does any one have any clues on the gauge its self?

The guage fix includes a magnet that you must install(glue) on the side of the sliding block that the worm screw goes into...you can test by attaching the aauge fix unit to the brown black, brown white wires(doesnt matter which)...then power up your guages and put the magnet directly on the side of the guage fix and move side to side and you should see the needle on your trim dial move up and down.

tried that had no luck, I am assuming I have a bad gauge or power issiue. I havent had a chance to go back find the gremlin that is causing the issiue. Its good and cold here in the Commonwealth so I have some time. This is the last issiue and thsi ski is ready to go!!!!

i actually saw like a knock off motor for 75 bucks brand new ... was thinkng about giving it a go if i remember the link ill post it

but hey 225 bucks or 75 bucks for a brand new motor ... id take the 75 all day long

How do you do the worm screw mod how much do you cut off? i just ordered trimfix and i dont want to be blowing fuses.

I used a flat file and lot of in and out file some and then put back in ect. ect ect. in the directions it mentions that if it runs down and when you hit the up button that it doesnt pick it up not to worry that when the pump is pushing water it will grab and move the nozzel up. I hope so mine travles up and down great but when it goes to the bottom I have to just barley nudge it for it to grab.

I was in the same boat as you Diablo and wasnt sure it took me a while but it works great so far, just file a little at a time. If memory serves me correct it took off about 3 to 4 threads from the screw.

I have a copy of the worm gear instructions from Todd @ the trim fix, if you need them send me a PM with your email address and I will pass them along.

Just need to connect mine to the battery on my GSX and will report shortly,

Note: I found alot of water in the tubing of the large plug, have an odd feeling thats the main issue why the VTS shorts out, mine has no cracks no nothing, I've fixed alot of CDI boxes on old ski-doo by just drying them out in the oven for 30 mins and silcone it, but they have hair line cracks, mines MINT. Its the only thing on that could allow water to get in. Its my bust guess.

I would check yours everyone, make sure there is no water in that protective tubing and seal the tubing at the end before the plug with something to stop the water from going in...

This thread is over 2 years old. If you have a question about this, it's best to start a new thread and not bring one back from the dead.

I did mine, worked perfect, only issue is mounting the box, and thats about it. I mounted it on top of the VTS with zip ties, was going to use something like glue but it held all year so left it. Buy it, its worth the money and will not fail unlike the ski-doo vts.

just installed one on a 95 xp. i mounted mine under steering bracket. works great and it didn't take much work to install.
