(Answered) Battery lead NEG question

Looking at this, im wondering if i have it right. Do both the positive and negative cables fasten to the same post located on the starter? That IS NOT where i found the negative anchored to when i tore it apart, rather do it correct though!

No. The negative goes on one of the two bolts that attach the starter to the block. Then usually on the side of the starter is the connection for the positive wire that comes from the start solenoid. They were probably correct when you took it apart.

That picture diagram is confusing , makes it seem like neg/pos lead to the same post. Which felt incorrect… Now i need to sort out what bolt im missing
