Amsoil Injection oil

Do not use Amsoil injector oil, it's no-ash, dual rated, it'll gum up your rave valves. If you use Amsoil you need to use interceptor oil which is API-TC rated, full synthetic low ash. I would at least empty the tank and bleed the system. If you haven't changed the oil filter recently it would be a good time to do that also.

I'll probably stick to the XPS which I'm currently running. Lou as always you make a lot of sense. I just can't stand the local seadoo dealer and any business I have with those guys I just hold my nose and deal with it. I could order it which I would ordinarily do but I want to get this engine running this weekend and I'm going to pre-mix the first tank and I don't have any spare oil so I'll just grit and bear dealing with the A-hole. Thanks.

You can order gallons from other dealers and possibly get it cheaper.
Interceptor is good oil...if you have a good dealer near you I'd switch.
My preference is Yamalube.

yep, cuzin bubba was thinkin on paintin his trailer (house) that same color.
Actually I'm currently using Quicksilver, full synthetic, API-TC as soon as I need more oil I'm going to switch to Amsoil. I met the local distributor at the boat show last month. He quoted me a price of $116.00 per 4 gal. case delivered, interceptor, full synthetic, API-TC which is cheaper than the Quicksilver at WalMart.
Check Amsoil website for your local distributor, apparently they are independent and have a lot of leeway with their pricing.

FYI Quicksilver is not WalMart oil, it is sold a WalMart among other places, including Mercury dealers, the oil is marketed by Mercury Marine. I've been using it for three seasons with no problems. A lot of other guys have been using Quicksilver. Last I checked the SeaDoo dealer here was selling XPS for $78.50 a gallon.

Wasn't try to be hard on you.. I just don't trust oil with color or Wal-mart.. Everyone has there love for there oil and Amsoil is my girl!!!

Mercury oil is great oil, not a no frills cheapo walmart! I think the true answer is keep the filters clean, use good oil whether its the seadoo oil, the mercury synthetic from walmart, or Amsoil. I haven't heard one person say their motors popped because of these oils. I'd like to put a little extra in teh tank for safety if it allows me, i know many 2 stroke outboard guys that do it with their boats and have thousands of hours. Whats a little extra smoke between friends...
