Being a newbie, is this MAJOR damage or just something I need to keep an eye on? Thanks...

holy moly... not "major" but fix it!!!!!! it will turn major... go to gelcote.com or somewhere buy a gelcot repair kit and patch er up, not too hard to do, there is a 2 part vid on you tube that will help out!!!

I see the repair kit on glecote.com for my particular model...Does it come with everything I need?..Also, does this stuff need to be sprayed? For this particular application, it doesnt need to look perfect just protect my exposed fiberglass..Thanks

only thing you need to buy i think is blue tape... gelcote does not need to be sprayed, it will be the color of origional finish... really cool stuff... order the kit, watch the video... type in "gelcote repair" on you tube, it will come out better than you think!!!!! good luck post some pic's when your done!

coo.. the gelcote repair is only like 30 buck, and it's the right way to do it... and then when your buddy womps into the side of the dock with your boat you'll have a little to fix that too, well worth the money...

I just did a repair this weekend twice that size. Bought it from gelcote. They make the factory cote for Sea Doo. ITs only 30 bucks but 20 to ship it. Came with everything you need but tape and something to mix it in. You can buy a universal kit at bass pro or overtons if you have one close to yuo. For an area under the boat that nobody sees, it would be fine. After the repair, you see it because the original stuff has faded over years, so really having the original color is no big deal. Very easy to use, just dont put too much on. I made that mistake and was sanding a long time.

Marine-tex

I used White Marine -Tex repair putty. It's a 2 part epoxy that was very close to the original color. Set-up really hard and took a lot of sanding but turned out really good. I sanded down to 600 grit then used rubbing compound.

Under $20 from my local marine dealer for the 2 oz repair kit.

i had the same problem but mine was about a foot long where a boat putting out wake came by as i was loading and made me hit the crossmember on trailor i took it to a local shop they fixed it for 100 bucks cant beat that aslong as its not gone through the fiber glass u should be ok but avoid any impact on things in water it could knock a hole in it alot easier either find u a good fiberglass man are local boat repair shop and have fix to ok mine two days thats what i recomond
