Air issue

Have 97 ski 1800 boat with twin engines. Boat runs fine when lid in engine compartment is open. Close lid or put storage lid in,boat will not run. Goes to about 3 k rpms both engine and won't go any higher. Open lid and runs fine

Run the bilge fan and see if it will run.

I thought that was for only temporarily dispersing fumes in engine compartment? Mine isn't working so I'm assuming it may be a fuse?

See if there is a leak in your exhaust headpipe plugs. If exhaust is in the engine compartment there is no oxygen for the engine to run.

No leak. Seems to be around water tank area. Could hose be loose at exhaust port. Can u call me? 5015847667

Exhaust hose at hull exit was disconnected. Also plastic piece melted.
