I used the search but came up dry. GTX 1994 and 1995. I'm not confident enough to do any engine work on these yet (not to mention if it ain't broke don't fix it) but I'm curious if aftermarket intake grates can offer any pickup? I'm going to put a solas impeller on both when I have to change the wear rings, I was just thinking this is an easy install, fairly low price mod if they help any? Possibly this one

With any performance part on our skis... there is always a give and take.

A deep "top-loader" grate, will keep the pump loaded in rough water, and they also help with the cornering by keeping the hull planted. BUT... that scoop does make some drag. SO... on flat, smooth water, you may actually loose some top speed performance.

With that said... it really depends on the ski, the rider, and in what conditions you normally ride in, to know if it will be worth it.

To give you an example... my 96 XP and my Yamaha Superjet both have a Top Loader grates on them. BUT... my big Genesis runs a stock/OEM grate. (it's just not needed on the big ski)

I see, give and take is right. We ride rough water about half the time but I seriously doubt it's rough enough to see any benefit from the grate. Ah well, thanks anyway. Looks like it'll just be an impeller for me
