Adapt 5-pin mag 657 for 4-pin ski?

I cooked a motor and have a running spare that I'd like to drop in while I rebuild the old one. Everything is going very well, but the spare motor has 5 wires coming out of the mag, and the original only has 4

Original had:
red, red/blk, yel, yel/red

Spare has an additional white wire.

Anything easier than swapping out the whole mag?

No.....you cannot use this magneto stator but you should be able to pull the mag stator from the other casing that had the cooked motor in it and use it. The armature of the flywheel should'nt matter

The white wire sends a signal to the electronic module and an amplifier. Your 4 pin model doesn't have an amplifier.
