OK, another problem found with my carb. When I was checking the accelerator pump, I cant get air into the inlet side (or suck air out). I took it apart and everything looks fine. Even with everything removed from inside, I cant blow air through the inlet side. The outlet side (running to carbs) is clear. Looking at the body next to the inlet line, it looks like there might be some kind of check valve (ball bearing and spring maybe) in the base where the line comes in. Anyone familiar with that?

Check valve

Yes, there is a ball with a spring in the housing and it sounds like it's stuck.
Soak it and used compressed air to try to free it up. Be patient cause it's real expensive to replace.

Carb cleaner....

When mine was gummed up, I took a can of carb cleaner or the equivalent and used the little red straw and pushed it up to the nipple and shot it through the check valve. It worked for me.
