I'm baaaaaack :)

So my 99 Sportster has been in storage since October.
OK, storage is a fancy word. It is in a field behind the used boat dealer. But is is shrink wrapped (I think, I havent seen it in months). Any tips on what to do when I pick it up?

Should I have them unwrap it? I would just assume leave it wrapped as I won't be launching it for another 3-4 weeks. The battery is here at home so they wont be tuning it up or anything like that.

Thoughts?

No real tips yet.

Once you are ready to go play with it... take the shrink off, make sure the battery is charged, and you have fuel and oil. Assuming that it was running properly when it was put to bed... you shouldn't have any issues.

Oh... one thing... take an extra set of spark plugs with you. They will probably be fouled from the fogging oil, but don't change them right away. You want to burn it out... and any extra oil in the engine. So go out for your first ride... and change them when you take a brake for lunch.

One more thing I thought about... since it was outside... and assuming that the shop knows how to winterize a seadoo boat... there will be an anti-freeze plug in the transom. Remove that, and drain the anti-freeze, and DO NOT put it back in. That plug is blocking one of your cooling passages.

Good luck

Say what? I don't remember any kind of plug when I winterized it in October. I followed the directions in the manual to the letter.
