99 sp ltd impeller removal?

I can not figure out how to seperate the impeller shaft from the drive shaft. I have a manual and it says there is a snap ring between the rubber boot and the seal with the zerk fitting on it but I cant find anything. The manual I have is terrible.

I am wanting to replace the wear ring. I have had a cavitation problem and re sealed the grate and ride plate but that didnt fix it so I figure this is worth a shot.

hey...need to push the steel collar, where carbon ring rides against, toward back of boat, the ring is behind it...

Thanks, I got it all out and specs all seem good but I dont have a impeller tool so I will let the dealer remove that for me.


One more quick question, The impeller side of my drive shaft had a rubber plug in it (the book says the ltd doesnt have them) and the carrier bearing side had a plastic collar but no plug.
Is this normal? I just want to make sure a plug didnt fall off the other side when I removed the drive shaft.

I'd install those rubber plugs on both ends of the driveshaft...
