Just picked up 99 GSX RFI Friday and had it out all weekend, overall I'm pretty happy with it. It has a few issues.
-It has a low speed/idle miss. Spark plugs are brand new, replaced them before heading out for the weekend. I used the Suggested NGKs. Was thinking about replacing the fuel filter also?
It runs freaking great wide open and out of the hole, jumps right out of the water. Cruisin thru a no wake/low speed zone is when I notice it.
-About 3 times over a 6 hours period, the low oil light came on and would go back off. Beginning of the weekend the oil tank was 3/4+ full. By the end of the weekend it was half. The oil filter has a date on it and its 5 years old. I'm hoping that's the issue, or its a sensor.(I was told not to mess with the oil filter as its a PITA to get the air out of the oil lines)
-I also got the 12v low warning a few times, however the battery was fully charged and showed 13 volts. (I charged it up before taking it out) I was told that I should check the ground at the block because its on the bottom and is prone to rusting down there?? Also I was told to check the voltage stuff first as that may be causing all my sensor issues??
-It also needs a lower storage compartment cover. (the piece that the hood/hinge attaches to)
