My 98 sportster 1800 left motor was just pulled and rebuilt. Now I have a lot of play in my drive shaft and a small leak around my carbon seal. My right shaft has play in it but not like the left. Plus the left even seems to have a slight noise coming from shaft area, not motor noise but more like metal on metal. Trippled checked the set up but cant see anything wrong.... A bend shaft? I dont know...Need help.

When the engine was re-installed, was the drive shaft properly aligned? You have to make sure all the engine shims where put back correctly and that the shaft is aligned.

Yea i checked and all seems to be right. shims are in place to correct the off set. It seems like its coming more from the cone area. i dont know just kinda lost on this one...Thanks for the reply.

Bearings in the pump may be shot. When the pump is off, how does the pump feel when turning it by hand?
