I was looking at buying a 98 SeaDoo GTX for $500 with trailer is it worth it?:confused:I'm a n00b and don't know what a good Price is? I've restored some Cars so I'm not afriad to do some work. the ad says it needs minor work, so I was wondering how hard/expensive are seadoo's to work on?

thanks

Yeah....

Yeah, it's a good price, but I'd before I bought it, I'd do a compression test on it and make sure the oil tank is still there.

There have been some older model owners go to premix and remove the tank. Although, you can go to premix, you still have to have the tank in place to lubricate the rotary valve.

If the compression is bad and you'll need a motor, you'll have over $1300 to $1500 bucks in it. Which, for a ski with a new motor, still ain't bad.

I just bought one myself for $500 a 97 GTS. Here's what I can say thus far, I have spent an $263 since in various things like a carb rebuild kit, wear ring, new trailer wiring, jack, wheel bearings, and all new hoses. It has good spark and compression so I am looking forward to getting this thing on the water. Make the buy and have some fun.
