Took the 98 GSX Limited and 96 GSX out to the lake, 3rd weekend in a row today  it went pretty well but the water was unusually rough (windy)

I promise I did try a search..

I ran into an issue today.. as long as I'd owned this ski, the buzzer never worked (never got any sound when putting key onto post.. It's never really bothered me

Today on the lake.. Fire it up, idle for 3 minutes on my way out of the no wake zone... Start my ride, and I heard what I thought was a beep, so I slowed down for a bit - less than 5 minutes later I hear it again, it's one long beep like when you connect the wrong key

There are no alerts on the info center, just the beep.. It'd do it intermittently off and on during the ride..

I came in for a break and tried to check it out.. The beeper was now working when connecting the key.. And a couple times I got a long beep, if I disconnected and reconnected the key it'd give me the two short ones..

I know the info center works as I got the low oil warning last week after jumping a wake

The fuel gauge does not work, however..

If anyone's come across this, please let me know.. I don't know how long it might have been doing this as the beeper wasn't working before

*edit* When I got home and went to fire the ski up again to make sure the exhaust was cleared out, the buzzer wasn't working again..

Best Regards..

If the buzzer is going out, it could be an overheat warning. With the buzzer going in and out it might be overheating but the beep is going in and out

Thanks..

I will have to check next time to see how warm the engine is.. However, we took a 30 minute break and it beeped within 30 seconds of starting the ski

The fuel gauge doesn't show the level..

Was it pissing water out the back like it should? Hook it up to the hose and fire it up to ensure the cooling system is functioning properly

Ran it 10 minutes on the hose today, the beeper is again not working, the pisser tell tale had water coming out

I really don't think it was overheating, as I had a solid 2 hour stretch of riding the thing, 95% of that 30 MPH or higher with zero drop in performance.. And it would do the long beep even after sitting for 30 minutes then idling for a minute in the no wake zone

I don't know if they're related but it was showing me LTemp 75 on the gauge and it's 76 here, so seems pretty accurate (prob not related to the engine though..)

And engine was not hot to the touch after 10 min (warm, but far from what I've seen as far as overheating goes)

Also didn't appear to have any water leaking into the hull from the cooling system, so seems to be pretty well sealed

My 95 GTX did the same thing once and never again. Still do not know what it was. I had just changed over all the fuel lines and had the battery off to replace the started solenoid. Took it out and within 10 seconds of starting in the water, had the long beep and no warning light. Stopped beeping and about 5 min later did it a few more times and has not done it since (about 15 engine hours ago)

Thanks! I hope it was one and done, though mine did it the entire 3 hours and 30 minutes on the lake that I added to the hour meter.. I'm going to jump the fuel sender connector and see how the ski reacts.. It ran beautifully aside from the beep, so I'm just going to chance it and take it up to Nacimiento for the 5 days and cross my fingers.. I'm a little sad I have to take it out of the water every night rather than dock it thanks to the rivets for the footpads coming up / getting water into the hull
