I am new to the forum and have run into a problem with my GSX. I was in the river 2 days ago and beached the ski quick to do something. When going back into deeper water to start is made a grinding noise what sounded like rocks going through the impeller. My 2 other friends skis did the same exact thing. I shut off ski imediatly and shook to try and clear out the little rocks. It cleared out when i restarted but now when I accelerate it vibrates bad and only runs about 50-51mph when usually it gets 2 around 55-56. My friends 06 RXP doesnt vibrate but it has a similar problem after the incident. Any input would be appreciated. I just want an idea before I start tearing her down. Thanks

Hey...
Look inside the pump, either thru the nozzle or w/ a flashlight shining from underneath. Check the wear ring for damage along with impellor.
Hopefully they were little rocks to begin with, and not A BIG ROCK, that became little rocks, may have bent driveshaft, also???
Search around here, find how to inspect bent shaft...not sure off hand.

Chances are you didn't bend the shaft...itspretty hard to bend it unless you get a tow line wraped around it. It sounds like a wear ring or the impeller is damaged. Here is the specs on the wear ring. Check the impeller too for any damage. Wear Ring clearance for your seadoo 1.0 mm or (.040in) Measure the clearance at the center of the impeller blades, with a 12” long gauge. Measure the clearance from the venturi side of the jet pump.

I hope this helps.

I measured the clearance and it is in spec but the wear ring has lots of grooves in it and a small chunk missing so I am goin with that as the problem. Also the impeller is in a little bit of rough shape. Do I need the seadoo tool to remove the impeller or is the another way to do it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
