97 xp reverse flush

What proper tech to reverse flush a 97 xp and do I need to pinch a hose in back of ski near exhaust or near head? Thanks for any help.

You should have the hose fitting at the back of the pump, nothing to pinch.

Never have the hose on if the engine is ever off.

Don’t flush for more than a minute or two or you will burn up the driveshaft seal.

I know where to screw water hose on. I though I had read in manual about pinching a water return hose or something. The manual has multiple models and kinda confusing to read. I know towing 97 xp your suppose to pinch water line in rear hatch right before the water regulator on water box. Thanks for any help. I know on 3d it was just hook up water start ski and turn water on when running.

No, nothing to pinch just like I said in post #2 on a 1997 XP.

The only ones you have to pinch to flush are the older ones with a tee next to the engine for the flush kit to attach to so the water doesn't just go out the pump instead of into the engine.

As others have said, nothing to pinch when flushing. However, if you ever have to be towed, you should pinch the hose leaving the water valve going to the head. That is probably what you read in the manual.
