97 xp electrical

i just bought a 97 xp and do not get any beeps when i put the key on. also the fuel gauge does not move at all and i have about half a tank of gas in it. the vts and its gauge works and the engine starts right up. there was one time that i put the key on and got 2 beeps, but nothing before or after that.
all i can find on this is that the beeper is probably broken, but i don't hear a clicking noise coming from it and it worked that one time. maybe the fuel gauge and beeper problems are related?
im new to pwc's so any ideas will help. thanks

Try cleyour lanyard post and cap with soapy water and see if the beeps start, for the fuel gauge search on this site "fuel gauge repairs" and there is a post on how to check and repair.

well the 97 xp is known for its failing fuel gauge. i wouldnt worry about that. look into the other problems first then do the fuel gauge fix if you want it fixed later
